MY CAREER GOALS AND APPROACH

It is always a pain to choose a career of your interest and maintain an interest in that field. After my grade 10, i had selected business field and decided to make my career in this field only. Being in business stream it has evoked my interest in Business Finance program. After this my ambition is to do degree in actuarial science and i desire to work at a reputed position in a reputed company. So at last but not least,i would like to say,"Keep on putting your best efforts until you succeed".

BUSINESS LEADERS I ADMIRE

Among the many successful businessmen in the world today, there are two leaders i the most BILL GATES and DHIRUBHAI AMBANI.
First of all, BILL GATES of microsoft. I greatly admire him. In three decades, he transformed microsoft into a global powerhouse. His wealth creation is astounding. He's the single largest giver to the community with a US$ 33 billion endowment. Plus, he has an equally extraordinary charitable spirit.
Second person i admire is DHIRAJLAL HIRACHAND AMBANI, also known as DHIRUBHAI, was an Indian rags-to-riches business tycoon who founded Reliance Industries in Mumbai with his cousin. Ambani took his company(Reliance) public in 1977, and by 2007 the combined fortune of the family was 60 billion dollars, making the Ambani's the second richest family in the world, next to the Walton family.

MY PERSONAL GOALS

Everyone should have personal goals that evolve around anything that needs to be accomplished. As a student, i have to set personal goals so that i would be successful in my endeavors. I usually set goals daily. My ultimate goal is to become an Actuary. In order to achieve my ultimate goal i have to concentrate on my immediate goals.
My immediate goal is to focus on my college education. As now, i am official student at college enrolled in the undergraduate program for business finance. After completing this course, i will have to go to university to do degree in acturial science. So to achieve my personal goals i have to work hard.

MY COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Community involvement provides an environment in which we develop the skills and acquire the knowledge that can help us make a difference in our rapidly changing society. Being involved in community is equivalent to run in a circle because one thing is dependent on the another.
Community involvement helps us polish our communication skills and teaches us how to handle the rushed situations. It strives to provide us opportunities to make decisions and encouragement to satisfy our academic needs responsibly and effectively. So, communication, decision making and understanding are the important characters of community involvement.

MY INFORMATION SYSTEM DAY

In this Era of technology and advancement, we use number of information system daily but we are not aware of that. An information system is a group of components that interact to achieve some purpose. It has five components:

• Computer Hardware



• Software



• Data



• Procedures



• People

As technology advances, Information system is spreading all over the world. I also use information system on day to day basis.

FACEBOOK: The first one to come across is widely used social network, Facebook. The world is connected with one another through facebook. To access facebook we need a hardware and i use my laptop for that facebook itself is a software and consists of data. It follows a procedure which requires people to login with their e-mails and password. All these components are useless if there were no people to use it. People play important role in using the information system. In this way it consists all the five components.

CELL PHONES: Smart phones or PDA phone are also one of the IS we use in our life on day to day basis. The characteristics which makes this IS consist of all the five components. Although these are phones but they are the hardware component of IS. These PDA phones are designed and run by software. While making these devices they have to go through data to form the codes for the software as well as the procedures to follow steps. And, i can be considered as the fifth component as it requires people to use it. These phones becomes the most used information system to communicate across seas, while walking, driving etc. We can conclude that PDA phone indeed is an information system and contains all five components.

SLATE: As a student of sheridan college, slate is also my IS that i use daily. To use slate, i use my laptop as a hardware. Slate is the software designed by the college to ease the access of information and communication for students. It consists of data used both by professors and students and follows a securely login procedures and undoubtedly consists of people as us are using it. In this way, this IS also consists all the five components.

MIS AND MY CAREER

Management information systems is the term given to the discipline focused on the integration of computer systems with the aims and objectives on an organisation. The term system in MIS implies order, arrangement and purpose. Management Information Systems can be used to transform data into information useful for decision making. Computers can provide financial statements and performance reports to assist in the planning, monitoring and implementation of strategy. Companies generate profits from information systems such as powerpoint, E-mails, Excel.

In my Career these are the approaches i will be using as to be updated with the latest numbers and presentations. These three plays an important role as e-mails keep you interacted with other companies and Excel and power point visualize the company's position in market scale.
